Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. She is an American stage and film actress. Her most famous role is in the role of Teri her passionate lawyer Teri Jospehson, on the Showtime TV series Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe is her new name following her marriage to. She was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland. When she was young, she demonstrated an aptitude for acting. She won the Best Actress Award at the Maryland High School competition. After her experience in the acting and in "The Washington Ballet Company" She was awarded an acting degree at the New York University. Contractor Born at Mumbai in India she was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She'd been exposed to a lot of travel and other cultures since a young age. She attended boarding schools at the age between 7 and 9 years old in London. Later the family relocated in Toronto (Canada) in Canada, where she were raised for her entire life. Contractor was a brilliant pupil in Toronto and was trained as the classical ballet dancer. She went to the Etobicoke School of the Arts. This is a specialized high school that teaches arts in which she didn't just learn about theater, but also dance as well. At the age of 16 after a decade of years of dancing Contractor discovered she was looking to take up acting as a profession. She accepted a full-scholarship to attend the University of Toronto after graduating. The university offered her master's degree in theatre as well as a double major in social and psychology. Following a year at University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the play Pericles at the prestigious famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and was offered the leading role. Her work was highly acclaimed throughout the 92 productions which she was a part of. She was awarded the 2002 award for the best production of the Year from Canadian critics. She was given the chance to be a part of the Stratford Conservatory. It allows only eight males as well as four female students to study traditional theatre. Contractor eagerly accepted.
